Lovable
Lovable is an AI app builder: you describe a web app in plain language and it builds the interface, database, sign-in and payments, hosts the result and keeps the code in sync with your GitHub.
It suits founders who want a working web product, such as a SaaS, a client portal or an internal tool, before they can write one themselves.
The free plan gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month; Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, as checked on 30 October 2026.

- What it does
- Describe a web app in plain language and Lovable builds it, database, sign-in and payments included, then hosts it under your own domain.
- Our take
- Founders who want a working web product before they can build one in code. Describe it, adjust it by prompt or with visual edits, and Lovable hosts it with a database, sign-in and payments, while every change lands as code in your own GitHub.
- Pricing
- FreemiumMid priceFree: 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, plus small monthly grants for hosting and AI; editing or downloading the code, custom domains and built-in payments need a paid plan. Pro is $25 a month for 100 credits, or $250 a year, and Business $50 a month for 100 credits; a credit selector takes both up to 10,000 credits a month, at $2,250 on Pro and $4,300 on Business, as checked on 30 October 2026. A change costs what it takes: Lovable's own examples run from 0.50 credits for a button colour to 1.70 for a landing page, and 50 more credits on Pro are $15. Unused monthly credits roll over for one more month, fees are not refunded unless the law requires it, and students get 50% off Pro for up to 12 months.
The IndieHacked breakdown
What it does
Lovable turns a description into a full-stack web app: the interface, a PostgreSQL database, sign-in, file storage and server functions. The backend is built in, on Supabase's open-source foundation, or you connect a Supabase project of your own. You change the app by chatting, use Plan mode to work a change out before anything is built, and adjust the interface with visual edits that spend no credits.
Every project is real code, on TanStack Start for apps created since May 2026, synced both ways with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan. Lovable hosts the app with SSL, takes payments through Stripe or Paddle, and runs a security scan each time you publish. Its MCP server lets Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or ChatGPT create projects and send changes for you.
Who it suits
Founders who want a working web product before they can write one: a SaaS, a booking or marketplace app, a client portal, an internal tool. Lovable handles the hosting, sign-in and payments, so a first version can take its first customer without a separate backend or payments setup.
It also fits a founder who plans to hand the code on. Lovable says it is built so that "you are never locked in": the code lives in your own repository, and a developer or Claude Code can keep working on it outside Lovable. A workspace has no limit on members, so a designer or developer joins on the same plan.
Not the right fit for
Founders building a native app for the App Store or Google Play. Lovable builds web apps only, which can be made mobile friendly or wrapped by another tool, and its own comparison names FlutterFlow for native output; Draftbit, reviewed here, publishes to both stores.
Developers who want their own stack, or a bill that stays flat. Every project uses Lovable's stack, with no choice of framework, and its comparison with Replit sends a Python backend or long-running server there. Each change costs credits by how much work it takes, so a busy month costs more; in October 2026 Lovable added check-ins during long builds to show the spend.
