Bubble
Bubble is a no-code app builder: you build web apps and native iOS and Android apps in a visual editor, and its AI agent can draft the pages, database and workflows from a description.
It suits founders who do not write code and want to see and change each part of the app by hand, the database and the logic included.
Building is free; a live web app starts at $39 a month, or $32 a month billed yearly, plus usage above the plan's workload allowance, as checked on 30 October 2026.

- Our take
- Founders who do not write code and want to change the app by hand. The AI agent drafts it, and the pages, database and workflows stay editable in one visual editor, for the web and for iOS and Android.
- Pricing
- FreemiumMid priceFree to build, with 50K workload units and 500 AI credits a month, but no live app. Going live takes a paid plan for each project: Starter is $39 a month for a web app, $49 for a mobile app or $69 for both, or $32 a month for web billed yearly, and Growth and Team run to $649 a month, as checked on 30 October 2026. Each plan includes workload units for the server work your app does (175K a month on Starter); past them, overages cost $0.30 per 1,000 units unless you switch overages off, which takes the app offline at the limit until the next month. AI credits for the agent (1,000 a month on Starter) do not roll over, and generating a new app or editing in the visual editor spends none.
The IndieHacked breakdown
What it does
Bubble is a visual editor for the whole app: you design the pages, set up the database and build the logic as workflows, step-by-step sequences such as what happens when someone signs up. Its AI Agent can generate a complete first version from a description, with pages, a database, workflows and sign-up and login, then keep adding features while you watch the result in the editor.
The same editor builds web apps and native iOS and Android apps, which run on React Native and share the web app's database and workflows. Bubble hosts both, and a paid mobile plan publishes to the App Store and Google Play from the editor. Through Bubble's MCP server, Claude, Claude Code or Codex can build in Bubble too, and what they make opens in the visual editor like the rest.
Who it suits
Founders who do not write code and want to keep control of the app as it grows. Bubble generates no code to review: the logic reads as workflows and the data as tables you can open, so you can check what the agent built and change it yourself without spending AI credits.
It fits a product that needs a web app and a phone app on one backend, such as a marketplace, a SaaS or an internal tool. Integrations run through Bubble's API connector and plugins, and Xano, reviewed here, names Bubble among the front ends it serves when you want a separate backend.
Not the right fit for
Developers, and founders who plan to hand the app to developers, who want the code itself. Bubble apps have no code underneath; moving out means an AI agent rebuilding the app in code through the Bubble MCP, which Bubble's own guide calls "a strong starting point, not a finished app." Lovable, Bolt and Replit, reviewed here, hand you the code from the first build.
Founders who need a live app on a small, fixed budget. Each project needs its own plan to go live, from $39 a month for a web app or $69 for web and mobile, and traffic beyond the plan's workload units is billed at $0.30 per 1,000 unless you cap it, which takes the app offline. Replit starts at $20 a month and Bolt at $25 with hosting included, though both bill AI use on top.
