Rules
The rules for taking part on IndieHacked, from a comment on the Board to a listing in the Directory. They are part of our Terms of use.
Read them before you post or list. The Board's guidelines add a few more for posts and comments.
Respect people
Argue with the idea, never the person. No harassment, hate or threats, and no attacks on anyone for who they are.
Take part honestly
One account per person. No spam, no fake accounts, no buying, trading or faking likes, follows or Cred, and no ads written as posts.
Respect privacy
Keep other people's personal and confidential information out: customer data, private messages, home addresses and keys. Never post an intimate image of anyone.
Nothing sexual involving minors, and nothing explicit
Sexual content involving a minor is removed, the account closed and the police told. Pornographic or sexually explicit content has no place here, in a post or in a listing.
Be who you say you are
Don't pose as another person or a brand. List only products you build or work on, and never fake a verified mark.
Say what's in it for you
When you post about a product you work on, are paid by or earn from, say so in the post.
Keep it legal
No illegal content, no one else's work without the right to use it, no scams, no gambling without a Swedish licence, and no investment or token offers.
Don't break the site
No bots or flooding, no probing for weaknesses unless you agreed it with us first, and no scraping beyond what our robots.txt allows.
When a rule is broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before:
- A note from the team
- The content removed
- Cred taken away
- Posting paused
- The account suspended
- The account closed
The team tells you by email what it did, why, and which rule or law it rests on. To challenge a decision, reply to that email. Seen something that breaks a rule? Use the report link beside it.
