Framer
Framer is a website builder for marketing sites and landing pages: you design on a canvas that works like Figma, or have its AI agent build pages you keep editing, and Framer hosts the site with a CMS, SEO settings and analytics.
It suits founders who want a launch page or company site that looks designed, without a developer.
It is free on a Framer domain; your own domain starts at $15 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly, as checked on 30 October 2026.

- Pricing
- FreemiumLow priceFree on a Framer domain, with 500 AI credits to try the agents; Framer calls the free plan ideal for non-commercial use, and your own domain needs a paid plan. Basic is $15 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly, with 1,000 AI credits a month; Pro is $45 a month, or $30 billed yearly, with 3,000 credits, staging and branch previews, as checked on 30 October 2026. Both are priced per site. The workspace owner edits free; each extra editor is $20 a month and a content editor $10, billed monthly whichever cycle the site plan is on. Pro add-ons raise the page, CMS and bandwidth limits, and sales tax is added at checkout. A first purchase can be refunded within 7 days, or 14 in the EU and Turkey.
The IndieHacked breakdown
What it does
Framer builds and hosts websites. You lay out pages on a freeform canvas with components, breakpoints and effects, or describe what you need and its design agent builds the layout, sections and copy, which stay editable on the canvas. The agents spend AI credits, which every paid plan includes each month.
Hosting with SSL and a CDN, a CMS for blogs and other collections, SEO settings, forms and cookie-free analytics come with the site, so there is no separate deploy step. Through Framer's MCP server, Claude, Codex, Cursor and other MCP tools can update copy, import CMS content and work on the site, and you review the changes on the canvas before you publish.
Who it suits
Founders who need a launch page, waitlist or company site that looks designed, without a developer. Framer names waitlists, product launches, pricing pages and docs among what founders build with it, and its interface mirrors Figma, so a founder or designer who works in Figma starts with workflows they already know.
It also fits the split Framer itself suggests: the product built in an app builder such as Lovable, the public site in Framer. The workspace owner edits free on any plan, so a solo founder pays only for the site; a designer joining later is $20 a month, and someone who only updates the CMS $10.
Not the right fit for
Founders who need the site to be the product, with accounts, a database or payments inside the app. Framer's own comparison sends that build to Lovable, reviewed here, and keeps Framer for the marketing site.
Teams who want to export the site's code, or who need large content limits on a self-serve plan. Framer's comparison points them to Webflow, reviewed here: Framer Pro holds 10 CMS collections and 2,500 items before paid add-ons, Webflow Premium 40 and 20,000.
