AppKittie

AppKittie is an app market intelligence tool: it estimates revenue and downloads for apps on the App Store and Google Play, and shows the ads, viral videos, keywords and onboarding flows behind them.

It suits indie app founders who want to see what already earns in a category before they build, price or market their own app.

There is no free plan: one plan with everything is $79 a month, or $49 a month billed yearly, with a 14-day money-back guarantee, as checked on 30 October 2026.

Our take
Indie app founders choosing what to build next. Filter millions of apps by estimated revenue and downloads, study the ads, viral videos and onboarding of the ones that earn, or ask Claude or Cursor for the same numbers through AppKittie's MCP server.

The IndieHacked breakdown

What it does

AppKittie tracks apps on the App Store and Google Play: estimated revenue and downloads, pricing, ratings and growth, updated daily. You filter its database, 4,500,000+ apps by its pricing page, by revenue, downloads, category or launch date, and each app shows its live ad creatives, estimated ad spend by country, viral videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts, keyword rankings and reviews.

Its onboarding library records the sign-up, quiz and paywall screens of earning apps, flow by flow. The same data is open to code: a REST API and an MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and others, paid from the plan's 5,000 API credits a month. Data exports to CSV, and a dashboard can be shared with the team.

Who it suits

Indie app founders deciding what to build before they commit: which categories earn, how a competitor prices, which ads it keeps running. AppKittie says it is built for founders who want to "validate ideas, reverse-engineer what's working in the market".

It also fits a founder marketing an app that is already live. The ASO tracker looks for low-difficulty keywords, the ads library shows what rivals run to win installs, and the MCP server lets Claude or Cursor pull the same figures mid-task. One plan covers it all, with no per-seat pricing.

Not the right fit for

Founders who need exact numbers. Revenue and downloads are AppKittie's own estimates, labelled Est., and its terms say it does not guarantee the data is complete or accurate. For your own app, the figures in App Store Connect or the Google Play Console are the ones to plan on.

Founders who want to try before paying, or who only need one part of it. There is no free plan or trial, just a 14-day refund on the first payment. For interface references alone, Mobbin, ScreensDesign and AppShots are built around screens; for App Store keywords alone, Astro is $108 a year.
