The IndieHacked breakdown
What it does
Hugeicons is an icon library: 60,000+ icons in 10 styles on Pro, and 6,000+ in the Stroke Rounded style for free. You find an icon in the web app, the Figma plugin or the Framer plugin, set its colour, size and stroke, and copy it as SVG or as code.
For code there are official packages for React, React Native, Vue, Angular, Svelte and Flutter, an icon font served from a CDN, and a free hosted MCP server, so an agent such as Claude Code can look icons up and write the code for them. The free set is MIT licensed and needs no account or key.
Who it suits
Founders who design their own interface and build it too. The icon in the Figma file is the icon in the package, so a screen designed with it needs no translating, and the agent you code with picks from the same set.
The free set covers many first versions: 6,000+ icons under MIT, fine in a commercial product as long as the licence notice stays. Pro's licence covers unlimited end products, a paid SaaS included, with one seat for each person who works with the files.
Not the right fit for
Founders who sell templates, UI kits, starter kits or open-source components. Pro icons cannot ship inside anything others download and reuse, free or paid: in Hugeicons' words, "if the buyer ends up with reusable icon files, it is not allowed". The MIT free set is the route for those.
Founders who want to pay month to month. Pro is billed yearly, with no monthly plan and no trial, and when it lapses the npm packages, the CDN and the plugins stop working; only icons already downloaded as files stay usable. Pro Plus, at $1,197 once, has no renewal.
